Overview

About the project

Kiwo Honey is a premium honey brand that celebrates New Zealand’s rich natural heritage through its high-quality, locally sourced honey. As the team’s designer, I was tasked with creating hand-drawn illustrations inspired by traditional wood carving styles, showcasing native New Zealand flora on Kiwo’s honey labels. The goal was to ensure the packaging reflected the brand’s authenticity and connection to nature.

Tools:

Identifying the problem

The challenge

Kiwo Honey needed packaging that would stand out in the competitive honey market while staying true to its roots. The illustrations had to pay homage to Māori wood carving traditions while maintaining originality. At the same time, the brand required a distinctive visual identity that reflected the premium quality of Kiwo honey. The challenge was to merge a handcrafted, artisanal feel with a sleek, contemporary packaging design, ensuring tradition and modernity worked together seamlessly.
